Private Tuition

If you have access to a boat or own a boat and are looking to improve key skills, Ocean Boardroom offer top quality private tuition. Our experienced instructors are ready to help you with whatever you would like to improve. If you are located in the greater Sydney area, we can come to you.

Private lessons can be used to improve a number of skills, such as:

• Boat Handling & Parking (the number one request)

• Anchoring

• Offshore Passages

• Navigation using paper and electronic

• MOB recoveries

• Heavy-Weather Techniques

• Helming and steering

• Emergency procedures

Please note we do not provide private RYA practical courses including ICC training and assessments, and Yachtmaster exam training. We can refer you to partner centres such as Flying Fish Australia or Eastsail that can provide you with this training. We also work with other centres in Australia such as Southern Cross Yachting in Brisbane. If you would like to have me as your instructor, that can be arranged, but not guaranteed.

Requirements:

• You will need to provide a boat.

• The boat needs to be compliant with local regulations and insured for third party liability and training. Please check your policy.

• You will need to provide crew. Ideally 2, but at least 1 is needed.

• Boat will need to be in seaworthy condition.

• You will be asked to sign a waiver exempting the instructor from any liability with regards to damage to your or other vessels, injury and death occurred during or as a result of the lesson.

• You will need to agree to remain the master responsible for the vessel throughout the entire session.

• All necessary safety equipment needs to be onboard, including the appropriate number of lifejackets.

Price:

• Half-Day: $400

• Full Day: $600

Overnight: $1000/day

Prices for quoted above are for greater Sydney. Additional charges may be applicable for other location due to cover travel time and costs. A quote can be provided based on proposed location.
